Admin Group Privilege

This section will expand more on individuals with the Group Privileges shown in the image below:

Limited Group / Full Group

An individual can be assigned either Limited or Full Group privileges. These privileges are only available for their assigned campus(es). The differences are explained below:

A Limited Group Admin can… A Full Group Admin can…
  • View all groups
  • Search for inactive and administrative Groups
  • View and edit all Groups, create new Groups, and transfer leadership of Groups
  • Allows printing of labels across all Groups

The chart below displays the different actions a Group admin can take (within their assigned campus) when they have Limited Group vs. Full Group Admin privileges:

Actions Available Limited Group Full Group
View and Search All Groups (Including Inactive)
Edit All Groups (Including Inactive)
Create new Groups
Ability to Print Labels
Assign and Transfer Group Leadership

Tip: If you need to give an individual permissions to some specific groups, but would prefer not to give them access to all groups, we recommend that you review some of the role-based privileges for Group and Department leaders below.

Role-Based Privileges

Group and Department Leaders

These privileges are ideal for anyone in the church. They give access to perform a task but not more access than a person requires. You will find that you give many volunteers these privileges.

Main Group Leader

  • By default, a Group Leader will be able to create Events, Needs, and positions, view Group participants, send emails and Twexts™, run Reports, and take Attendance for the Group to which they are assigned.
  • Additionally, each Group Leader can be given the following extra access to their Group: Add/Remove People, Edit Group Settings, Publish Events to Church-wide Calendar, Request Resources, Upload Files and Auto-generate Logins for Group Members.
    • These additional Group Leader privileges are available in the Admin section of the Group's settings.

Assistant Group Leader

  • Has the same access as the main Group Leader for the Group (see Group Leader).

Coach

  • Has the same access as the main Group Leader for the Group (see Group Leader) plus the ability to leave notes about Group Leaders they coach and read notes left by other Coaches or Directors.

Director

  • Has the same access as the main Group Leader for the Group (see Group Leader) plus the ability to leave and/or read notes left about Coaches and Group Leaders within the Department.

Department Admin

  • Allows the individual to view and edit Groups, create new Groups, and transfer leadership of Groups within the assigned department. Departments can be selected for multiple Campuses if you are a multicampus site giving the department admin access to that department in multiple Campuses. They also have some Group Leader privileges, like being able to create or edit Groups, add or remove people, and create or edit Events in their department. They also have the ability to search for inactive and administrative Groups within their assigned department.
  • If the Department Admin wishes to print labels, the individual will need to go to Event Actions > Print Labels. Department Admins can also print labels from Mail Merges.
