Learning about Attendance Terms
People Terms
Attendance: The total number tallied with the Head Count number and Profiles marked as attended.
Attendees: Number people present, means the number of unique Profiles responsible for generating attendance numbers. The Head Count is not included.
Unique: Number of matched Profiles, means each Profile is counted 1 time regardless of how many Events they attended.
Example: Amanda, Andrew, Josiah, and Millie attend two Events in the date range and there’s a head count of 3 recorded for one of the Events.
- Total attendance = 11
- Total attendees = 8
- Unique attendees = 4
Note: The Individual Attendance Detail report includes a row for Total Unique Child Attendance. This section is using your Age Protection Threshold. Only children under this age will appear here for a total.
Included Events Terms
This is the method for determining which Events should be included in the Report. For most Attendance reports, there are four different filtering options.
- Attendance Grouping
- Group Type
- Department
- Group
Totaling Method Terms
The Totaling Method defines how you count a person as present. It’s available in the Individual Attendance Summary, Individual Attendance Detail, and Attendance Summary (only with Once per week or Once per day) reports.
- Once per week (Sunday-Saturday): This counts a person 1 time for the Engagement Week, even if they attended multiple Events on multiple days.
- The Engagement Week is located in your System Settings > General Tab. Think of it as “How does your church structure the week?” This section defines which day to start the week. A helpful way to consider which option to choose is to ask if your church tends to group your midweek service/groups in with the previous Sunday or the upcoming Sunday.
- Once Per Day: This counts a person 1 time for every day they attended, even if they attended multiple Events on each day.
- For Every Event Occurrence: This counts a person for every Event they attended within that date range.
Example: Nikole attends two Events on Sunday and one Event on Wednesday.
- Once per week (Sunday-Saturday) = 1
- Once Per Day = 2
- For Every Event Occurrence = 3

Attendance Trend
Attendance Overview
Gives a weekly or monthly breakdown of total and unique attendee numbers by Grouping. Available onscreen only.
Attendance Summary
Gives a summary for an Attendance Grouping, Group type, Department, and/or Group. The new attendance summary Report presents counts of unique people who have attended during a selected week or on a selected day. If you want to know how many unique people came through your church’s doors in a week or on a day, this is the Report for you. If, however, you want to know what the total attendance was in a time range, counting people who came to multiple Events each time they attended, then the Attendance Summary for Attendance Grouping Report is the one you want.
Attendance Grouping Summary
Gives a summary for each Group in an Attendance Grouping, broken down by Department and Group.
Individual Attendance Detail
Includes specific attendance information for each individual in a Group or Grouping as well as the last date attended.
Individual Attendance Summary
Contains an attendance summary by individual within a specific Grouping. Available onscreen or as an Excel export. If run for a single Group at a time, will include additional information like percent of Events attended.
Individual Attendance Summary with (Missed/Attended)
Same as the Individual Attendance Summary Report, but filtered for only those who attended or missed the specified number of Events for the date range. Available onscreen or as an Excel export. If run for a single Group at a time, will include additional information like percent of Events attended.
Individual Attendance Missed in a Row
This Report will show you, anyone, who's missed your desired number of Events in a row (the default is three). It will look at the current week and the previous two and find all Events that met in those times. It will then take all of those Events and look at attendance in the last X number of times they each took place. People will only show up on this list if they've missed the most recent X number of occurrences of these Events, and the 'Last Attended' column shows the last time they attended an Event meeting the criteria you entered into the Report.
Blank Attendance Marking Sheet(s)
Contains a list of Group members for a single Group or each Group within an Attendance Grouping. Can be run for a week, month, or quarter at a time with dates a week apart and based on the start date chosen prior to running the Report. Indicators included to advise which are the Leaders of the Group (L=Main, A=Assistant).
Roster with Barcodes
Contains a list of people in a Group or Attendance Grouping with a separate barcode for each person. Either the phone number or address will appear below the name for help with distinguishing between people with the same name.
Use this Report in conjunction with taking attendance through either the Group, the Event or the attendance entry tool. The barcodes can be scanned in order to mark someone as present in the Group. Check out this article for more information on how to record attendance using barcodes.
Note: These barcodes are not the family barcodes used in the Check-In system.
