Kidz Check in Printer Troubleshoot

Reconnecting the Brother Printer to Wifi

  1. Make sure the wifi is up and running on the ipad.  The Ipad and Printer must be on the same network to communicate.
Go to the brother printer that is having connection issues click Menu
  2. Arrow down until you select the “WLAN” setting
  3. Arrow down to the Infra setting from there pick your network and enter the password. Please advise this is case sensitive

Reconnecting the Brother Printer to the Ipad

  1. Reconnecting the Brother Printer to the Ipad

  2. Go to the settings option on the right hand side of the self check in screen and select change printer

  1. A pop up will appear select OK to acknowledge that changing the printer will clear previous settings.
  2. Enter the check in set up password and continue to the next screen.

  1. Click the “brother Printer” option for a list of all brother printers that are available to be connected.

  2. After selecting the printer select to default to this printer and not allow other printers to print to this device. This will bypass the creation of a print hub and still allow you to print to this device.

Initial Zebra Printer Setup

Before initiating set up be sure to have all the parts ie: ribbon printer and power cord plugged in etc.

**The device must be in the vertical orientation and some settings will not work while the device is mounted/in a horizontal position, Only 1 device is needed to set up and it does not need to be the one connecting to the printer. Once connected it can connect via any check in station.

  1. Download the Zebra Printer Setup Utility from the app store and open the app.
  2.  Grant access to bluetooth and local network.
  3.  Make sure your printer’s bluetooth and device bluetooth are enabled and discoverable.

  4. Swipe from the left side to the right to open up more features.
  5. Under Discovered Printers look for your printer and click it to connect.
  6. Click “Connectivity Settings” “Bluetooth”.

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is ON and Discoverable is ON
  2. Change the Friendly name to include “checkin”  or “ZD4xx” (casing doesn’t matter)
  3. I don't change any settings on the next 2 screens as shown below. Click “next” and “apply”
  4.  Once set up go into the Check in app and launch check in following the bluetooth printer set up steps below.

To Connect or Reconnect a Zebra printer to check in

  1.  Click the “Bluetooth” Printer Option

  2. Select the Zebra printer listed with the friendly name your team named it. In this case it is called “far right printer”

    3. The settings are to be as follows

    1. Does this printer have a label cutter? “No”
    2. Default this station to use this printer? “Yes”
    3. Would you like to allow other devices to connect to this station’s printer “no” (this is to skip [print hub creations)
    4. What DPI is this printer? “300dpi” (using the default 200 will result in the tags printing in a smaller font)

Connecting Zebra printer to blue tooth

  1. Standard connection once configured go to the blue tooth settings on the IPad and insure it is connected to the correct printer.
  2. If it is glitching, hold down the power button until lights are off and sign out of the check in set up.

To restart the Printers.

  1. Turn on the printer and allow it to reboot then re-sign into the Kidz Self or Manned check in set up.
    • If it does not ask you to select a printer you can test to see if it auto connected or click “change the printer” to reestablish connection

If all else fails and a printer is fully down try following the steps to connect that ipad to one of the other printers so that all check in stations are operational and some are just sharing a printer. Still not recommended to use the Print hub feature as I have found out work best to follow the above directions to connect a printer.
